The Dark Side of Social Media: Harassment of a Domestic Violence Survivor

READY TO PUBLISH
PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE
My story is posted to serve as a notice to the public to bring awareness to safety concerns for domestic violence victims and survivors and to educate the public on the dangers of performative activism and para social relationships.
The conduct by these individuals who have been harassing me since 2021, is deeply disturbing and dangerous. They harassed and invalidated me as a survivor for coming forward to report domestic violence and abuse. They paraded my court documents around social media as I believe I was actively being abused in the legal system. Regardless of the outcome of any domestic violence report or court cases where domestic violence is the cause of litigation, the conduct by these individuals is the very reason victims stay in abusive relationships that could potentially harm them or cause them to lose their life. Fear of not being believed and ridiculed for reporting abuse is the reason they stay even though in 95% of the reported cases there is no arrest. It is not uncommon when survivors do escape and speak up, they get sued by the reported perpetrator for reporting the abuse, talking about the abuse with their friends, or for sharing their story [not names] about the abuse in online survivor support communities. Talking about a case to have honest discussion around how to fix a broken system or change legislation is beneficial to society. Shaming a survivor for what is beyond their control is socially irresponsible and reckless.
These individuals have deliberately contacted the restrained party in a domestic violence restraining order case that I believe put my safety at risk. While one of the individuals admitted to contacting the restrained party directly, two others have had contact with the restrained party’s attorney. They also contacted the opposing party in an employment lawsuit I had filed after requesting time off to attend court hearings and survivor support meetings followed by a work-related injury. These individuals were not witness to any of the events in my personal relationship or how I performed my job duties, so their opinions provided no value. I believe their actions were done in retaliation because I held them accountable for their conduct by filing a lawsuit against them for the hate campaign they launched against me in late November 2021.
In the constant public posting by these individuals since 2021, they have identified me in their content either by name, username, photos, videos, voice or nicknames accompanied with inflammatory statements to incite hate and harassment against me. All of these thigs are a violation of the California laws for Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking per Government Code section 6208.1 and 6208.2. I believe the conduct by these individuals has led to my protected location doxed, an unknown male showed up at my protected location, I have had the same vehicle surveilling my protected location in the early morning hours, and I had fecal matter sent to my protected location. [confirmation by the state of California RE protected location]
I had voluntarily taken down my original blog posts and YouTube videos in hopes the harassment would stop. However, I believe based on the recent hate emails I have received, in the absence of this information, these individuals continue to spread their propaganda by resurrecting old issues, recruiting new people to incite more hate and harassment against me by holding out my reaction to their verbal attacks from November 2021 as the problem to garner sympathy and attention.
Furthermore, I also believe based on their current public posts, that I have seen as a result of the hate emails I have received, they are enforcing their original hate campaign from 2021 with edited clips of my passed and recent content, partial conversations from private voice texts, and using incomplete statements from court documents to portray a different meaning than the courts intended. Because so much time has past, they are also blurring the timeline of events so they can lay claim to a perceived higher victimhood. I believe their conduct is intentionally misleading to elicit an emotional response where they fan the flames of hate against me in the comments of their publicly posted content to continue the harassment. These individuals continue to gather new followers by verbally attacking me to paint a picture of me with half -truths and their outlandish accusations for social media click bait and, in some cases, possible payment by the social media platforms through the misuse of influencer incentive programs.
The common pattern that these social media performative activists use to target domestic violence survivors is they keep their target and their followers on a curated dopamine reel of highs and lows. This pattern rewards their followers with a self-righteous high and punishes their target with a low blow of victim blaming and shaming verbal insults compounded with personal attacks. This reinforces the cycle of abuse for both their target and their followers as well as sending the message to 'fall in line or you will be next.' Of course this is my opinion based on my own observations and my experiences after I provided resources to survivors where they could report illegal activity in the community, such as people practicing mental health care without a license and how to report them for fraud for doing so. I will provide more context around this in my story.
I believe the conduct by these social media performative activists is abusive and dangerous as it demonstrates controlling, malignant and psychopathic patterns of cult like behavior to protect rigid, harmful beliefs that maintain social bias norms, keeping victims/survivors in fear of reporting abuse. I am not providing a diagnosis as I am not a therapist or Psychologist, it is my opinion based on firsthand interactions with these individuals as a survivor and a certified advocate. Up Next: In part one, I will take you back to where this all started. I will tell you who these people are. I will show you the content that led to the lawsuit I filed, and I will show you documents to support my story. Spoiler Alert! The Judge did find one thing they said was defamatory and the Defendants were most likely in violation of Federal Rule No. 11 Sanctions, and not the Plaintiff [me] as the Defendants would like you to believe.
