The Dark Side of Social Media: Harassment of a Domestic Violence Survivor

WORK IN PROCESS.... run through word copyright drop last check.
PART ONE
This is my story as a survivor of domestic violence and abuse who was faced with online verbal attacks after I provided information and resources to survivors in an online community. The harassment led to me filing a federal defamation lawsuit against three individuals followed by filing several restraining orders. I have survived many hardships in my life and overcome obstacles placed in my path that should have taken my life including breast cancer. One of them nearly took my life and no, it was not breast cancer. It was reporting and talking about domestic violence and abuse. More on my back story can be found here. After leaving an abusive relationship, I thought I found a safe place in an online community for survivors and the worst was over, but the digital world became another battleground where predators hid in the shadows of a community that was supposed to support survivors. On November 26, 2021, Samantha Adamo (What Does It Matter) a self-proclaimed revenge coach and admitted practitioner of the 48 Laws of Power along with her friends and clients, Laurinda Kirk (Real Laurinda), Tracy Korslund (Prison Wife Survivor), and their friends Candace Renee Moon, Tammy Sullivan (The Manicured Mom), and a few others posted multiple videos verbally attacking me and my newly formed nonprofit that supports survivors of domestic violence and abuse. All parties names are provided as they are public figures or limited purpose public figures and they posted about matters regarding public concern, domestic violence and abuse. They can also post about me provided they do not violate California laws for Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking per Government Code section 6208.1 and 6208.2. See my disclaimer for more on use of my content and waiver of Jurisdiction. Before we dig into the details of what happened on November 26 2021, I need to provide the backstory to a few events that I found out after discovery was closed were connected to these verbal attacks that has turned into a full on hate campaign.
In July/August 2021, Tammy Sullivan, who is a Men’s Right’s Advocate, and I had a series of public discourse TikTok video’s back and forth. When a TikTok video posted by Tammy Sullivan, came across my for you feed, where Tammy Sullivan provided unverifiable domestic violence statistics I responded with a duet and provided a different opinion. We had exchanged a series of posts back and forth in TikTok’s videos where I criticized Tammy Sullivan's unbalanced views of domestic violence statistics and the harmful social impact her talking points could have on survivors of abuse. At this point you might be thinking Tammy Sullivan was the master mind behind the November 26, 2021 verbal attacks against me. I do not believe she was. However she certainly stirred up the hate in the comments of the posts by the others as well as created her own content that contributed to the hate campaign in 2021 then carried over her own in the years that have followed. Based on DefenLaurinda Kirk’s deposition from the federal defamation lawsuit I filed, Laurinda Kirk reached out to Tammy in late November 2021, for what I presume was to support their hate campaign against me as Tammy also participated in the verbal attacks. There is just way too much to unpack with Tammy Sullivan this early on, I’ll go into more detail about her later in my story. In October 2021, about a month before I was verbally attacked, several people involved with Christine Venrick's [The Trauma Lady] "group", came to me and a few others with their concerns asking for help. The back story on Christine Venrick is that she was running a PTSD support group, Trauma Matters, for survivors and was doing so without a certified peer specialist as the MHA recommends. Mental Health America (MHA) recommends support groups follow the support group facilitation guide they have available on their website and groups are peer led with facilitators who hold the credential of a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS). PTSD support groups are not the same as completing the steps in an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) program, that is not how it works when supporting people with trauma. Myself along with others, listened to the concerns of the survivors who came forward about Christine Venrick. I reviewed their documents and did research to find out who could help the people she had reportedly harmed. On October 22, 2021, I told the community if they had been harmed by Christine to contact the Virginia department of health and file a complaint if they wanted to do so. It is my understanding no further action was taken beyond the initial investigation against Christine Venrick. I had received confirmation after discovery had closed, the Defendant's had been friends with Christine Venrick before they verbally attacked me and Samantha Adamo confirmed recently that she remembered my video from October 22, 2021 well but failed to disclose this in her deposition. Since October 2021, more people have come forward about Christine Venrick and potentially illegal activities where Christine Venrick is reportedly using the same documents from her 2021 PTSD support group with harmful phishing files attached to the documents. We will go into more detail on Christine Venrick later in my story. On November 20, 2021, about a week before the verbal attacks against me started, I posted this TikTok video voicing my concern regarding Dan_HFC after I was provided complete text communications where he was showing signs of manipulative behavior against survivors in the healing community. I was provided this information because I had asked Dan to be part of my nonprofit, he agreed but never completed the onboarding process. I knew at the time I posted my video about Dan, he was friends with Tracy Korslund, one of the Defendants in my lawsuit . I found out later he was also friends with the others who verbally attacked me. After I was provided the texts messages involving Dan, I had blocked both Dan and Tracy on TikTok, I banned Dan and someone claiming to be Tracy Korslund at the IP address level from my nonprofit’s message boards and I blocked Dan’s phone number from my personal phone. I will not go into too much more detail about Dan as he unfortunately has taken his own life after a well-documented long history of issues with his ex-wife. About a month before he passed in February 2024, he stated in a two-part TikTok public video that his ex-wife called the police and reported him for kidnapping his kids. Last I checked those videos were still on his TikTok page. Full Transparency: The preserved video regarding Dan from November 20, 2021 I provided has been edited to remove the stitched person out of respect for their privacy as they do not want to be pulled back into this story. Also, Dan had inserted himself into the employment lawsuit I had filed long before I knew who he was. Because Dan inserted himself into matters that had nothing do with him, I was asked questions about Dan in my deposition of that case. Providing information regarding my nonprofit and how Dan was brought up in a deposition in connection to my nonprofit is on public record from a personal case, therefore I can speak on this from a personal perspective. At this point you might be thinking, they came after me because I posted my concerns about their friends conduct and I think you might be right. However, that was not what the Defendants said in their response to my lawsuit complaint regarding my post about Dan or in their depositions. In fact the Defendants never mentioned Christine Venrick, and barely asked me about Dan in mine. What I do know is Samantha Adamo posted that their first attorney recused himself from the case after he filed their response with the Court. The question is, why did he recuse himself? We will go into more detail on this later in my story and I will provide proof that I believe shows they lied to the Court, and I will explain why I think they did it and how it impacted the outcome. What was unraveled after litigation closed will shock you and explain the motive behind the carefully curated compelling spectacles the Defendants continue to post on their social media pages to deflect people away from their vile conduct and hold out my reaction as the problem. Back to November 26, 2021, all hate campaigns need a foundational narrative to sow the seeds of doubt against the target. In the TikTok videos posted by these individuals, they claimed I was dangerous to survivors, yet they also stated they did not know who I was and that they had only seen a few of my TikTok videos before they made horrific statements about me and trashed my nonprofit. Apparently, all it took was a couple of my TikTok videos to assemble the masses and coordinate a hate campaign of over two (2) hours combined content trashing me. Then they furthered the harassment by deliberately going to another social media platform and reposted their content on Instagram. As they fired off hostile and bullying videos one after the other, they identified me in their content either by name, username, photos, videos, voice or nicknames making inflammatory statements, combined with accusatory questions terrorizing a survivor struggling with PTSD. In their posts these individuals also laughed while mocking domestic violence survivors who are harassed online, they taunted me with screenshots of court documents about domestic violence reports I made, they lied to the survivor community stating I had a restraining order issued against me, which I never have, a court docket search could have disproved that. They trashed my nonprofit dedicated to creating safe spaces online for victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. They told people I was terrible at my job and that was why they fired me. None of these individuals have ever worked with me and as you can see based my public LinkedIn page, my work colleagues have endorsed my corporate skills; however the same could not be said for the Defendant's who bragged about their corporate experience to mask their vindictive actions to give credibility to their words verses their actions, in my opinion. Also, I was still employed at the time they made their statements. I was out on disability and had already won my workers compensation case in court. At the time, I was also defending myself on one battlefield in a typical defamation case that survivors face after they report abuse, while fighting a different battle for survivors on another field in an employment lawsuit I filed after I requested time off to attend court hearings for a domestic violence restraining order and survivor support meetings followed by a work-related injury. Then to have to deal with these individuals coming at me with their vile conduct for providing resources to survivors that their "friends" had reportedly harmed, but they learned the hard way I was not going to go down with out a fight. And when I found out these individuals had done this to other survivors, they were not going to walk away without consequences. [More on my back story can be found here.] When I responded to the verbal attacks, these individuals used my response to post more content holding out my reaction as the problem to sow the seeds of doubt that isolated me from support in the survivor community. I answered what I thought were questions the best I could and I also directed them to my nonprofit’s website where answers to their questions could also be found. In their content they compared me to a dictator in China and told people I looked like a Stepford wife. Then screamed at me and told people was dangerous to survivors for providing support and resources including the hotline and suicide prevention numbers. I provided the suicide number for several reasons, mostly because I had contemplated suicide when I was dealing with abuse. They continued to post more content screeching that I was gaslighting people because I told them answers to their questions were on my nonprofits website and used that response to post more content accusing me of refusing to answer their questions. Then they posted another TikTok video stating they should have gone to the website first because it did answer their questions, but they had more questions. However, they never stated what those questions were. They deleted that video shortly after I had screen recorded it. I will dismantle their manufactured narrative later in my story with receipts, and I will show you where in their deposition they could not remember what their important questions were that they had asked to protect survivors, as they claimed. The conduct by these individuals is appalling. Harassing victims/survivors for coming forward to report domestic violence, regardless of the outcome, is the very conduct that keeps survivors in abusive situations that could potentially cause further harm or cause them to lose their life. Furthermore, ridiculing survivors for wanting to be a part of something to help fix the root of the problem is exactly why rigid harmful beliefs that fuel social bias is allowed to run rampant and keep victims/survivors in fear of reporting abuse. The Defendant's tried to excuse their conduct and said in their GoFundMe campaign for attorney's fees, "As survivors that advocate for victims, we want victims to know what to look for when they are seeking help" while none of them had even so much as attended a survivor support group at the time their statements where made. Also, keeping in mind how they came at me with their full chest out "as wanting to protect survivors" while they supported Christine Venrick who was running a PTSD support group without properly certified support as directed by the MHA. The irony in the title of their GoFundMe was to clearly pandering to their followers, "Protect Victim First Amendment Rights"; as their friend Candance Renee Moon stated with full conviction and spectacular posturing that "victims don't have rights on social media". Asking people to fund the consequences of your own actions is not advocacy. The conduct by these individuals is so far removed from what actual advocacy is, that the level of audacity and lack of self-awareness by these individuals is blindingly obvious. Did I make mistakes when responding to them out of emotion, I sure did and I will reflect on what I have learned later in my story. After the verbal attacks, I filed several reports with government agencies for cyber stalking and harassment then contacted 98 senators to talk about section 230 reform using their videos has a reference as well as provided the senators the reports I had made to the various government agencies, at that time, and did so before I filed my lawsuit. When that avenue turned into finger pointing on who owned jurisdiction and nothing was being done to resolve the problem, I filed my lawsuit for defamation in Macon, GA Federal Court on March 2, 2022. Samantha Adamo had posted during litigation that she was confused as to why she was included in the lawsuit when others created so much more content about me. First, I believe that shows she was more aware of what was going on than what she admitted to in her deposition and second she fails to tell people those two videos were on her large account that had over 340k followers, at the time, that generated the most traffic. The comment section of those two vidoes was filled will absolute vitriol against me, mostly from people I never interacted with, a few people I thought were my friends and one person I had prior public discourse with, Tammy Sullivan, who was helping to stir up hate in the comments. The hate campaign from November and December 2021 that led to me filing my defamation lawsuit can be seen in the video below. I have put this rough, uncut video together using the publicly posted and unedited content by these individuals.

Up Next: In part two, I will walk you through each manufactured narrative these individuals crafted in their hate campaign. I will provide information as well as documents to show I was targeted and verbally attacked for providing resources and information to survivors in a healing community on TikTok. The defendants I sued did not just ‘come across’ my TikTok videos as they stated under penalty of perjury in their depositions in the defamation lawsuit I filed against them. Spolier Alert! I have the receipts!
